Answer

The Teachers’ Workload Agreement, TNC 2024/2 has been agreed and was issued to all schools by the Teachers’ Negotiating Committee (TNC) in April 2024.

It recognises the importance of the role of the professional Teacher in ensuring that the educational needs of young people are met as fully as possible.

It is the responsibility of Boards of Governors to ensure that the workload of all Principals, Vice Principals and Teachers is managed fairly and consistently to ensure that all teaching professionals can discharge their roles and responsibilities effectively for the benefit of the teaching and learning of pupils.

The Department worked in conjunction with the Education Authority (EA) to update their online training for school Principals, Boards of Governors and Teachers covering directed time budgets and the Workload Agreement.
