Answer
This issue is an operational matter for the Housing Executive. I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive, who has advised me as follows:
“The Housing Executive recognises the removal of hate expressions and addressing hate crimes in Northern Ireland requires a concerted and collaborative effort across government, civil society, and communities. By adopting a comprehensive strategy that prioritises dialogue, education, and awareness, Northern Ireland can move towards a more inclusive society that honours its diverse identities and fosters peaceful coexistence.
The Housing Executive are acutely aware that this is a very emotive area which requires a sensitive approach, and the Housing Executive will continue to work towards the removal of hate expressions and addressing hate crime which is intrinsic to its everyday work in communities.”
