Answer

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 provide requirements on international travellers to self-isolate for 10 days in specific instances. The Department of Health and Social Care has commissioned a private sector company to verify compliance with the Regulations through follow up phone calls to confirm that an international traveller is self-isolating at home, if required. This contract includes those arriving into Northern Ireland.

If there are concerns that an international traveller is not complying with the Regulations, cases for investigation are referred directly to the Police Service of Northern Ireland by the Home Office, with no involvement from my Department.
