To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the introduction of legislation, during the current mandate, to ban smoking in cars with children.

I was delighted to receive both Executive and Assembly support for this important public health matter, and you will be aware that new regulations to prohibit smoking in private vehicles carrying children came into operation on 1 February. The new laws were accompanied by a comprehensive public information campaign on TV, radio, social media and printed media, including on billboards and buses.
