Answer
The purpose of the Houses in Multiple Occupation review was to look at the impact of the regulatory scheme on councils in terms of resources, guidance and legislation with a view to identifying any changes necessary to ensure the legislation achieves its policy intent. In conducting this review we have directly contacted councils, The Landlords Association and tenants advocacy groups through Housing Rights. Anyone with an interest in the regulation of Houses in Multiple Occupation can engage in the process and make their views known to the Department by responding on https://consultations.nidirect.gov.uk/
