Answer
The Environmental Statement was published in March 2007, and subject to examination at Public Local Inquiry in November 2007. The Independent Inspectors appointed to chair the Inquiry submitted their Report in April 2008 and were satisfied with the Environmental Impact Assessment undertaken. Since then, my Department has reviewed the contents of the Environmental Statement and updated baseline survey information where deemed appropriate. I am content that the Environmental Impact Assessment is fully up to date and reflects the scheme design. Furthermore I am content appropriate mitigation will be implemented as part of the construction contract.
