Answer
“Supporting Pupils with medication needs” guidance is supported by the addendum Guidance on the use of Adrenaline Auto-Injectors (AAIs) in schools 2018. This guidance has been adapted for Northern Ireland by the Department of Health, in partnership with my department.
Departmental officials have engaged with colleagues in the Department of Health, Public Health Agency and the Education Authority on a review of the current medication guidance. This review is currently paused due to competing priorities.
