Answer
We welcome the Independent Reporting Commission’s sixth report and positive comments in relation to the impact the Communities in Transition (CIT) programme, led by our Department, is having on ending paramilitarism.
Under the Executive’s Programme for Paramilitarism and Organised Crime CIT was awarded £2.3m for the year 2024/25 which was supplemented in year by a further £1.5m from monitoring rounds following a bid from our Department. As a result, CIT is delivering 29 projects worth £3.8m across a range of issues in 8 designated areas.
