Answer
The issue of intersectionality was recognised by the Executive in the Racial Equality Strategy 2015-2025 and considered as part of the review of the Race Relations (NI) Order 1997.
Equality Legislation is currently comprised of separate acts which provide protection against discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, race, religion and political opinion, sex and sexual orientation. Discrimination claims may be brought on the basis of more than one characteristic protected by existing equality legislation.
