Answer
Since receiving the Review report, our officials have engaged with victims and survivors on its findings and have worked with key partners in the HIA Redress Board, COSICA and VSS to implement operational / administrative recommendations, to improve the process for victims and survivors. This has included additional resource for VSS, a public awareness campaign and a new Code of Practice for solicitors developed with the Law Society.
We are currently considering advice from our officials in respect of the review report and its recommendations, an associated action plan, the views of interested parties, and next steps.
As part of our considerations we also intend to discuss these matters with victim and survivor group representatives when we meet with them shortly.
