Answer
My department is taking forward a Regional Review of Neurology Services to improve services for patients with neurological conditions including epilepsy.
The Review, is tasked with identifying the optimum configuration of neurology services for the next 10-15 years, determining the associated investment required and outlining an implementation plan. As part of the Review, workstreams were established to consider key parts of the Neurology pathway including Outpatient referral and long-term support. The Neurology Review Team is now in the final stages of developing priorities for change which, it is anticipated, will drive improvements across Neurology services, including access to Outpatient assessment and diagnosis. A final report is expected later in the Spring.
