Answer

A new board was appointed to the Maze/Long Kesh Development Corporation on 30 October 2023. We recognise the immense economic, historical and reconciliation potential of the site and look forward to working with the Board to maximise that potential.

The Development Corporation have continued to preserve the listed and retained buildings on the site. They have invested significantly in the repair and restoration of the WW2 hangars occupied by the Ulster Aviation Society, to ensure visitors can continue to enjoy the UAS collection. The Royal Ulster Agricultural Society have further developed the area of the site which they hold under a Development Agreement. The addition of the Logan Hall, The Fold and The Annex have contributed to the ongoing success of the Balmoral Show. The Air Ambulance also operates from the site under licence.

In addition, the previous Board continued to develop its thinking and approach to the potential regeneration of the site. The new Board will build upon this work.
