Answer
As part of my Department’s Regional Review of Neurology Services, a specific long term conditions workstream has been established to focus on improving the multi-disciplinary management and care of those with long term neurological conditions. The workstream will oversee the development of outline pathways for the most common long term neurological conditions.
While the Review was necessarily paused in March 2020 to enable resources to be redirected to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Review will recommence later this month to progress this important work.
As the Review progresses, the Department will work closely with the Northern Ireland Neurological Conditions Alliance to identify opportunities to engage with service users and carers.
