Answer
I have been advised by NI Water that following flooding incidents in this area, it is undertaking a localised appraisal study of the drainage systems in the Orchardville and Ardmore areas of Finaghy Road North. Once complete, the results of this study will be used to identify any possible works that may be taken forward. Progression to detailed design and delivery of any medium–term solution will be subject to the availability of funding and is not currently planned within the 2020 calendar year.
My Department is also currently preparing a pre-feasibility report for various options to mitigate the flood risk in the Ashton Park area. It is anticipated that this report will be completed by May 2020 and if a financially viable scheme is identified, my officials will take forward a more detailed feasibility report and economic appraisal.
